Mumbai label stock manufacturer SMI Coated Products will be participating at Labelexpo Europe 2017 for the fourth time this year. SMI offers a wide range of label stocks for both the Indian market as well as exports. More than 50% of SMI’s business is generated from exports; so Labelexpo Europe is an important platform for the company to meet with global as well as Indian consumers.

In addition to its wide portfolio of solutions at Labelexpo Europe 2017, the company will launch two new products. The first launch will be clear on clear using holt met under the brand name SMI Clarity. The second product to be launched is the peelable label stock for wet wipes, which has been developed for a UV curable adhesive.

“These new offerings reflect the kind of technical capabilities SMI has acquired. The level of expertise that we have now is world class,” says Ajay Mehta, managing director of SMI Coated Products.

These two new launches are aimed at both Indian and global customers. “Both India and world markets are equally important for us and so these two new solutions are meant for Indian and world markets,” says Mehta.

Talking about his earlier experience at Labelexpo Europe, he says that the previous three occasions have been great for SMI in terms of engagement with customers.

“Experience at Labelexpo Europe has been fantastic. We get to meet friends across the globe, both from client segment and suppliers,” Mehta concludes.
