Digital cutting and creasing machinePringraf to install world’s first Highcon Euclid IIPringraf in Italy is in the process of installing the world’s first Highcon Euclid II digital cutting and creasing machine. Giuseppe and Roberto Prioriello, co-founders of Pringraf, said, “We have been in the printing business since 1994 and have always been interested in the connection between graphic design, digital technology and printing. This new product will remove the limits inherent in creating an imaginative design and will make the realization of package design far more hassle-free.”Highcon Euclid digital cutting and creasing machineIn order to demonstrate their commitment, Pringraf entered and won design awards with a package digitally cut and creased on a Highcon Euclid machine. The Gelato box won both the Pro Carton Ecma Award and the Luxury Packaging Best in Show awards as well as best food pack, during the past couple of months.
Initially, the customer, Aloha, wanted a wicker basket, which is expensive, but Pringraf produced a cardboard package, which represents the product and remains useful right to the end. The original shape was kept and the wicker structure was created through intricate laser cutouts. This resulted in a more ecologically sustainable and less expensive concept. Time to market was only three months. And the customer achieved his objective – sales increased and market presence also increased significantly.
Nigel Tracey, Highcon sales director, said, “I have known Pringraf for several years. They are true innovators and the Highcon Euclid is a great match for them. I am looking forward to seeing how it helps grow their business.” Pringraf signed the deal with MGraf, the latest addition to Highcon’s distribution channel in Italy. David Marinoni of MGraf, said, The great thing about this business is the ability to bring two friends together. The combination of Highcon’s game-changing technology and Giuseppe’s vision will be a great success and personally, I am very happy because we supplied Prioriello brothers with a small offset machine more than twenty years ago and due to Highcon, we are now renewing our long relationship through this important project.”
The Highcon Euclid II incorporates numerous productivity and quality improvements – the result of valuable production inputs garnered from Euclid customers around the world, including a new substrate handling system, enhanced creasing quality, and optimized cutting algorithms. The Euclid II will be installed at a special site in Campochiaro.
