Multitec will launch two servo-driven presses – VSI Servo S2 and Ecosmart Servo at Labelexpo India 2016. Labelexpo 2016 to bring the best of cutting-edge technologies

The Indian label industry is a complex yet dynamic one, growing at 8% per year. Although wet glue labels are still growing, they are making way for pressure-sensitive and flexible labels. Flexo and combination presses are also charting the growth ladder in a market otherwise largely dominated by offset.

Unboxing new possibilities with Snapdeal

The upside of any rebranding exercise is that it brings out something new. The recent Snapdeal rebranding has brought in a brand new logo, look and feel to the app, strategy, communication and much more. To sum up, everything about the brand has been lent a fresh perspective. It definitely adds an excitement to the company and the category overall. Exhibitors get permanent structures at Printpack

The 13th edition of Printpack India will be held from 4 to 8 February, 2017 at India Expo Centre and Mart, Greater Noida. For all its earlier exhibitions, hangars were constructed for accommodating some of the participants and exhibitors due to shortage of covered space at the Expo Centre. However, on the request of the Association, the Expo Centre has constructed six new pillar-less exhibition halls of 13 m height, fully equipped with ultra-modern facilities, for holding national and international events at a grander scale. The load-bearing capacity of the new halls is around 30 tons per sq. m, which fully meets the requirements of machinery exhibitions like Printpack or Plastindia.

Pravesha Industries targets non-pharma segment

Hyderabad-based Pravesha Industries has bought India’s 100th 10-color Gallus ECS 340 narrow web flexo press. The purchase was celebrated at the Heidelberg-Gallus function in Mumbai in March. The fully loaded 10-color narrow web press Gallus ECS 340 was installed in July 2016. “We already have two intermittent letterpress presses for labels. To meet our increasing demands for labels, this time we wanted to add a flexo press and we bought the Gallus,” says B Sivaprasad Reddy, chairman, Pravesha. “Also, we wanted to cater to the non-pharma segment, apart from only serving the pharma industry. For that we wanted to have a fully loaded base machine where we can perform various sorts of challenging value-added label jobs in the future. The investment is inline with the group policy of backward integration for the group’s main company Aurobindo Pharma.” At present, 80% of Pravesha’s printing and converting is for Aurobindo Pharma while the remaining 20% is for outside customers like Mylan, Hetero and Dr. Reddy’s, which again are pharma companies.
