CN Ashok, Managing Director of Autoprint Machinery Manufacturers, was honored with the MMS Lifetime Achievement Award presented by Anuradha Prabhudesai, President of Lakshya Foundation and Kamal Chopra, President of AIFMP. Under Ashok`s leadership, Autoprint has become a success story and so far installed more than 10,500 presses due to their strong logistics and after sales support. Having won several awards in the past, CN Ashok expressed his gratitude and said, “Mumbai Mudrak Sangh (MMS) – This association has been for last 61 years and having a base in Coimbatore and getting acknowledgment for the award in Mumbai is itself an accomplishment. Secondly, the day when this word spread across the social media, I received more than 1000 congratulatory messages, and this is self-explanatory about the active connections of the MMS association with the print fraternity. Followed by ALL INDIA FEDERATION OF MASTER PRINTERS (AIFMP), when the German and Japanese made technologies dominated the Indian printing industry, MMS gave us a chance not once or twice and after it, we had so many repeat orders which stood as a substantial reason to stand over here. I am so delighted, Kamal Chopra has come all the way from Ludhiana to felicitate us.”
Manish Gulati, Head -India -Sheet Business gave the introduction about the Avery Dennison products and the value additions it can provide to print service providers. A Appadurai, Country Manager at HP, gave a detailed presentation about the various innovations possible through digital technology and said, “Innovation is a mindset, and the PSPs must have a mindset of a marketing service to create value for customers by not dropping the price but creating unique value additions for their clients.” His presentation highlighted how digital technology could be used to short-run packaging as well expand market presence and share possibilities that are only limited to by lack of creativity and marketing acumen. Going along with the efforts to update the members, MMS simplified the mystery connected with GST through the Workshop-cum-Panel discussion spearheaded by the highly experienced Chartered Accountant, Kiran Garkar. Garkar gave a detailed presentation about GST and informed the audience with simple basics of GST to complex Equation for more than an hour. According to him, the introduction of Goods and Services Tax (GST) in India brings in a new regime of tax compliance, moving from filing of tax reports to a model based on data communication between your business as the taxpayer and GST Network (GSTN) organization. This will contribute to an increased simplification of the tax levy and administration and greater transparency, which will enable broad compliance and ultimately will unify the country as a single market. The session aimed to ensure preparedness among the print fraternity to the changes they would need to adapt on a long term basis and be ready for it by July 1st, 2017. At the end of the session, he addressed the queries raised by the PSPs present in the hall.
Anuradha Prabhudesai, President of Lakshya Foundation and guest of honor, gravitated the attention of everyone present in the hall, to create an awareness of the gallantry of Indian soldiers among the audience. An ex-banker, who left the job for the crusade of “Lakshya Foundation” is attempting to bridge the gap between armed forces and civilians. The army has appreciated her work and few writeup about the foundation has come in Asia Defence news. Few faces present during the last year were missed on occasion.
