Ineos, the world’s third largest chemical company and a global leader in petrochemicals, has reached an agreement to license its InnoveneTM G technology for the manufacture of polyethylene to the Brahmaputra Cracker and Polymer Limited (BCPL) for a plant to be built at Lepetkata, District Dibrugarh in Assam, India.

The plant will have an annual capacity of 220,000 MT in a single gas phase reactor and will be capable of manufacturing a wide range of linear low density polyethylene (LLDPE) and high density polyethylene (HDPE) grades for use in application areas like films, extrusion, rotomoulding, raffia and injection moulding. It will form part of the Assam Gas Cracker Project, a grass roots integrated petrochemical complex being set up by BCPL.
