Michelman showed its DigiPrime and DigiGuard primers at Labelexpo. Both the primers are designed in close collaboration with HP Indigo for demanding label applications that could not be produced digitally before. Introduced under the HP Indigo Pack Ready for Labels program at the show and to be made available in first quarter of 2018, the main product is DigiPrime 022, an innovative water-based primer formulated specifically for use in line with the HP Indigo 6000 digital press series.
Michelman also launched its DigiGuard 222, a new UV curable overprint varnish (OPV), in matte and glossy versions. Used in conjunction with DigiPrime 022, the combination results in labels with.
For press owners who want to continue using their current UV curable OPVs that have been validated by HP, a new additive, the DigiGuard 901 OPV, was showcased. The new additive strengthener will enable current OPVs to reach the required performance levels, when used in conjunction with DigiPrime 022.
With the new Michelman primer, varnish and additive products, HP Indigo press owners will be able to better address market segments such as personal care, household chemicals and other demanding applications.
