“We came to Pack Expo for the second time because we believe this event is a gateway to the North American market. Our experience last time was very good. Since exports are a big component of our business, we cannot ignore North America, especially the US market,” said Abdulqadir Rangwala, who looks after international marketing at Vista Packaging. According to Rangwala, the biggest challenge in the US market is to find the right distribution channel and the company is focusing on that aspect. In this regard, Vista has appointed John Ferrington as business development manager for North America.
Ferrington talked about his assessment of the US market and said the most striking trend is that consumers are now demanding more of stand-up pouches. He also stated that for Indian players to gain foothold in the US market, a solid local presence is needed because the US market is very competitive.
