EMT International expands cutting technology portfolio with slittec partnership

EMT International, a leading manufacturer of web transport systems, specialty finishing equipment, core handling and cutting technologies, announced a strategic partnership with slittec, a European innovator in high-precision slitting solutions and upgrades. This partnership will complement EMT’s existing cutting portfolio and expand its offerings throughout North America.

The alliance builds upon EMT International’s established product line, which already includes shafts, chucks/adapters, quick set bars, slitter holders, and punch tooling. slittec’s advanced cutting technology will enhance EMT’s capabilities, particularly in high-precision applications and concepts requiring greater flexibility and customization than conventional options.

“This partnership with slittec strategically expands our slitting technology portfolio, allowing us to offer even more comprehensive solutions to our customers,” said Mike Herold, executive vice president of marketing and sales at EMT International. “By incorporating slittec’s innovative precision slitting systems and concepts with our existing product line, we can address increasingly specialized needs in the market while maintaining the service excellence our customers expect.”

The partnership will follow a phased implementation approach, initially focusing on slittec’s wide range of shear and crush knife holder variance, which complements EMT’s existing product line with enhanced adaptability for customized applications. EMT can immediately offer upgrades to existing slitter winders with improved knife sections or fully automatic positioning systems. Future phases will expand to include complete slitting systems and additional advanced cutting solutions.

“EMT International’s established market presence and technical expertise in North America make them the ideal partner to expand our reach,” said Wolfgang Czolbe, managing director of slittec. “Our technologies complement each other perfectly, and together we can provide solutions that offer greater flexibility than what’s currently available from the competition.”

EMT International will provide full technical support, warranty services, and local engineering expertise for all slittec products distributed through this partnership. The companies will focus on serving customers in the USA, Canada, and Mexico across paper, film, nonwoven, tissue, packaging, and label industries.
