Jupiter Laminators’ sustainable solutions at Elite Plus

Jupiter Laminators, a leading name in the flexible packaging industry and a part of the Jupiter Group, will highlight a wide range of sustainable packaging solutions and new-age printing techniques at the 12th Speciality Films & Flexible Packaging Global Business Summit & Exhibition 2025.

The event, scheduled to take place in Mumbai from 3-4 September 2025, will be a meeting point of leaders in the packaging fraternity to explore next-gen technologies, materials, and sustainable practices.

The Jupiter team will highlight water-based inks, developed by their group company Inkofix, which provide a greener alternative to toluene-based inks. Mono-material solutions ideal for food categories that align with its circular economy goals, as well as ultra-thin aluminium foils (4.5 and 5.3 microns) manufactured by group company LSKB Aluminium Foils will be higlighted.

In an interaction, Barun Banerjee, CTO, Jupiter Laminators, said the company believes in a ‘first time right’ approach to product development and execution. The deep engagement with brand owners and rigorous process controls ensures they accurately meet specifications and exceed customer expectations, he said.

“We visit customer sites, study their machinery, and understand material-machine interactions. This information is shared with all stakeholders to ensure smooth and accurate development. Change management is followed at every stage to avoid lapses,” he said.

Banerjee views flexible packaging as a highly efficient solution due to its optimal material usage and consumer convenience. With continuous advancements in specialty polymers, high-barrier structures, and material science, the future of the industry looks promising.

“Substituting traditional foils with metallized high-barrier structures is gaining ground. Nano-materials and biopolymers are the future, especially in food applications. Digital transformation is becoming a key lever in reducing operational costs and increasing speed to market,” he explained.

Speaking about expectations from Elite Plus, Banerjee emphasized his keen interest in exploring the latest trends in flexible packaging. According to him, the event presents an opportunity to delve into new material developments and advanced technologies such as AI and IoT that are being incorporated into packaging operations. “Elite Plus is not just an exhibition, but a powerful networking platform that allows us to connect with both domestic and international industry players. It also serves as a stage to highlight innovations centered around sustainability,” Banerjee stated.

Recently, the company has introduced its 3D pouches for tea and other categories, spouted pouches for edible oil and condensed milk packaging, barrier paper-based structures, and MDOPE/PE combinations for enhanced recyclability, and matte finish pouches for snack brands that elevate the visual and tactile consumer experience.
