Christoph Dettke, managing director of Germany-based Enulec Electrostatic, said India remains the company’s most important growth market as demand for flexible packaging continues to expand alongside rising consumer consumption.

Speaking at PlastIndia 2026 in New Delhi, Dettke said Enulec specializes in electrostatic solutions used in flexible packaging printing and converting processes. Static electricity generated during printing and lamination can create safety risks and quality issues, and the company develops systems that neutralise these effects to ensure safer and more efficient production.

Enulec supplies its technology to leading machine manufacturers worldwide, including European companies, as well as Indian manufacturers, alongside major Chinese equipment producers.

Dettke noted that Enulec has been active in India since 2004, when the company first entered the market under his father’s leadership. Since then, the firm has regularly participated in PlastIndia, which he described as the most significant trade platform for the company in the country.

Looking ahead, Dettke expects strong growth in India over the next five years, driven by the expansion of the middle class and increasing consumption of packaged goods. Rising demand from grocery retail and growing operations of global consumer brands operating in India are expected to further boost the flexible packaging sector, supporting demand for advanced printing and converting technologies.

Dettke also confirmed continued collaboration with Indian machinery manufacturers.
