At Plast India 2026, Acme Rolltech highlighted its growing leadership in ceramic anilox technology and signalled its entry into specialty embossing rollers. Sandeep Sharma, director at Acme Rolltech, saind that what began as a focused play in ceramic anilox technology, has evolved into a broader surface-engineering capabilities. In December 2025, the company expanded its portfolio to include embossing rollers for multiple applications.
While ceramic anilox and embossing serve different process requirements, Sharma explained that the company is responding to rising demand in specialty segments in the country and globally. “Of late the specialty embossing roller application market is growing beyond printing and packaging, and in industries such as glass and leather,” he said. Rather than entering the mass market, Acme is targeting high-value, specialty application-driven niches.
“Earlier, embossing was all about depth, more depth meant better feel. Now it is about how fine, crisp, and sharp your structure is,” he noted. This shift aligns with Acme’s investment in laser engraving technology. The company installed its third laser-engraving machine in November 2025, and laser-engraved embossing is the first product line to emerge from that expansion. “It’s not only about depth. It’s about sharpness and finesse,” he emphasised, adding that discussions in the first two months since launch have been encouraging.
On the ceramic anilox side, Acme highlighted its Made-in-India anilox sleeves designed for CI flexo presses. The company caters to a wide spectrum of flexographic applications, from narrow web labels and mid-web stack flexo to wide web CI flexo and corrugation. On offset and film lines, its anilox solutions are deployed primarily in coating applications.
“We can manufacture anilox rolls and sleeves up to 4.5 metres wide,” Sharma said, pointing to the scale and engineering capability the company has built. He stated that Acme works with most major film manufacturers in India and supplies rolls directly and through converter networks.
Announced at the exhibition was a two-year warranty on all anilox rolls and sleeves. “No other manufacturer is giving two year warranty for their product. That showcases our strength and commitment, not only in India but globally, that our product is reliable and durable,” he said.
For Acme, PlastIndia remains important. “It happens every three years and brings the entire flexible packaging ecosystem together,” said Sharma. Beyond meeting existing customers, the company sees the exhibition as a platform to understand where the market is headed and align its five-year expansion roadmap accordingly.
Sharma promised a steady pipeline of future development. With additional laser capacity in place and exploration of other technologies underway, he mentioned that embossing is only the beginning. “The expansion and new future development will not stop. You will see a lot of innovations from our side this year,” he concluded.
