Packaging Clinic and Research Institute (PCRI) will be organizing a 3-day training program on flexible packaging in Hyderabad from 27 to 29 November at Hyderabad.

The program will cover topics such as plastic films, paper, metalized films related to flexible packaging, printing, lamination, sachet, pouch, bag, food grade concept, shelf-life concept and selection technique about laminate configuration.

The program is open to graduates in any discipline of science, pharma, engineering or printing. Candidates who have passed 12th standard and have two-year working experience or who are 10th pass and have five-year work experience can also apply.

For Indian students, course fee is rupees 10,000 and for overseas students it is US$ 500.

Topics taught on day one will be packaging fundamentals, packaging materials – paper & paper board, plastics films, package printing and coating techniques, concept on food grade and permeability. Day one will also have quiz-1 and practical.

Day two will be for group project work and topics such as packaging lamination-types, corrective measure, trouble-shootings, extrusion, multilayer configurations, different form of flexible packaging, metallization-concept, biodegradable film, role of flexible materials in intelligent packaging, will be discussed. There will also be quiz-2 and practical.

The final day will see continuation of project work. Topics of discussion will be shelf-life of packaged products, sachets, pouch-types including stand up-pouch, bags / ibc, cost optimization, optimum packaging specification development, quality parameters and innovations in flexible packaging. Day three will also see quiz-3 taking place in addition to a group project presentation.

The training program can be useful for delegates as it will enhance packaging skills, drive innovation and efficiency, and offer networking opportunities.
