Post GST, the urge to reduce manpower has become evident. To beat the heat of having less manpower, companies are increasingly turning towards automation. During the recently held IndiaCorr Expo show, Robus India tried to cater to the industry’s need for better automation. The company launched a range of new products such as online braille, collecting table, online and offline 100% printing check, high-speed automatic sheet lamination with flying knife, fully automatic and automatic carton stapler with design options.

Robus India has been a relatively young player in this segment. The initial days for the company were quite worrisome as they sold their fist machine after 8 months of venturing into the market at a huge loss. After a turbulent first year, the company began gaining momentum and by the end of the second year, it had sold 30 machines. At the IndiaCorr Expo 2017, Robus India sold five machines, a massive turnaround of fortunes for a new entrant in a hugely competitive space. The company believes in providing adequate training facility to its customers post sale and they claim to have garnered much praise for this. Over the past six months, they have provided around 5-6 rigorous trainings and are expecting to deliver more.

“Looking at our sales figures over the past few months, the packaging industry in India seems to be poised for rapid growth and expansion. We never expected orders to turn up the way they did. We are extremely happy and are quite expectant of growth in the market to utilize it for the company’s benefit,” a company spokesperson said.

Providing consulting services and noteworthy post-sale services are the primary targets of Robus India. The company strongly believes in cutting on overspends. Talking about their competitors, the spokesperson said, “If you compare us with our competitors, it would be evident that our competitors have have a good customer base but it cannot be denied that we sell more units to limited customers.”

Before building a thick customer network, Robus India believes in serving the existing ones to the best of their potential. Serving the modern day, well educated customer is a challenge for each and every company. According to the spokesperson, customers are now open to an array of options and each one of them is looking for the most prominent one. Robus India believes that they are the answer to customers’ dilemma.

The company has remained unaffected by demonetization. In fact, they claim to have received queries during and post demonetization. It was in February 2017 that they began getting orders in huge amounts from customers. GST, on the other hand, proved to be beneficial for Robus India.

In spite of their presence being less exposed at IndiaCorr Expo 2017, the company was happy with the footfall at the event. The company now looks forward to install a machine in Kuwait in the coming month. They sold two units to companies based in Delhi, one each to companies based in Gujarat, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh.
