TBM, a Japan-based company specializing in developing and delivering Limex, an innovative new material mainly made from inorganic materials, has announced that its environmentally conscious material Limex Pellet, primarily made from inorganic materials such as calcium carbonate (limestone), has been adopted by two companies in Vietnam. BioTech has adopted it as a packaging material for its flagship detergent product ‘Bio Clean’ and by by Vietnam Liwayway for its snack packaging.
Bio Tech
BioTech manufactures detergents using naturally derived ingredients developed with modern and advanced technology. BioTech says it recognized the global environmental challenges and came across Limex, which was not only eco-conscious but also met quality requirements and contributed to cost reduction, leading to its adoption.
TBM said Limex, which contains 50% or more inorganic material such as calcium carbonate, reduces plastic usage and greenhouse gas emissions compared to petroleum-based plastics. Moreover, by using limestone, which is abundant and relatively affordable, Limex delivers outstanding cost competitiveness over other eco-conscious alternatives. The sustainable and economical benefits of Limex align with BioTech’s commitment to conducting business with consideration for both people and the environment without failing to deliver actual value to its customers.
Limex Pellet is currently adopted for the packaging of three size variants of detergent product, Bio Clean. Moving forward, TBM and BioTech will consider the possibility of adopting Limex Pellet for other products while strengthening their collaboration to contribute to more sustainable society for both humans and the environment.
Vietnam Liwayway
Vietnam Liwayway, which carries the brand Oishi, is a leading snack food company in Vietnam and has presence in other Asian countries. Oishi has been a household name since its establishment in 1996 in Vietnam, known for producing its popular snacks.
Vietnam Liwayway says it recognized the global environmental challenges and came across Limex, which was not only eco-conscious but also met quality requirements and contributed to cost reduction, leading to its adoption.
In 2024, TBM collaborated closely with Vietnam Liwayway’s team to bring this project to fruition. Currently, Limex Pellet is adopted for three Vietnam Liwayway product lines. In addition, it marks the first use of Limex for snack packaging and the first extrusion lamination application. Moving forward, TBM and Vietnam Liwayway will strengthen their collaboration to pursue broader sustainability initiatives. These efforts aim to further reduce plastic usage, minimize waste, and contribute to a more sustainable future.
