Chuk
Compostable delivery containers are manufactured using bagasse - the agri-residue of sugarcane.

Chuk, the flagship brand of Pakka, has launched a global expansion plan, marking its first strategic move into seven international markets. Currently, Chuk is supplying their products to the markets in New York, Houston, Mauritius, Sri Lanka, Singapore, UAE, Adelaide & Perth (Australia), Netherlands, and the UK.

In parallel with Chuk’s expansion, Pakka is also strengthening its operations in Guatemala, with a $250 million food packaging solutions plant, supporting local economies and indigenous traditions.

Beginning in Ayodhya in 2017, Chuk offers ‘compostable packaging’ solutions. Chuk uses sugarcane residue, also known as bagasse, in compostable tableware and food delivery products. It works with food brands and quick service restaurants (QSRs) such as Haldirams, Taco Bell, Chai Point.

Jagdeep Hira, India business head, Pakka, said, “This international expansion represents a proud moment for India, as we take our compostable food packaging solutions from Ayodhya to the global stage. There is a huge demand for eco-friendly food packaging options in the US, UAE, Canada and other countries. This expansion will help us meet the needs of environmentally conscious consumers.  Our research indicates that the HoReCa sector and retail establishments across the globe are willing to accept innovative, sustainable packaging solutions that don’t compromise on quality or functionality. Chuk’s products are uniquely positioned to meet this demand.”

Chuk is enhancing its global reach with a US-focused website, Chukusa.com, designed for American consumers. Staying true to its sustainability values, Chuk showcases its tableware with images of popular US and global dishes. Local teams and distribution networks have been set up to ensure efficient delivery and market adaptation.
