Display design and manufacturing company Classic Display Systems Pvt. Ltd (CDS) has acquired a new digital cutting table from Kongsberg Precision Cutting Systems (Kongsberg PCS).
With an ever-growing demand for its award-winning POS displays, the company is installing the Kongsberg C24 digital cutting table and innovative VariAngle tool at its facility in Manesar, Gurugram, to boost productivity, increase its offering and help its creative team to bring designs to life.
“We’ve used Kongsberg equipment for more than a decade and so are familiar with its build quality and performance,” said Harsh Mohunta, managing director of CDS. “We were looking to invest in a new machine at our Manesar unit, to help us both deal with the current increase in demand and to give our creatives the tools they need to develop the innovative displays our customers expect from us.
“The C Series that was displayed at IndiaCorr is a faster machine than our existing machine, which will help us significantly in our short-run production,” he said. “The VariAngle tool is also very impressive and will mean we can produce various new shapes and designs that will enable us to underline our reputation for creativity.”
Mohunta said the C Series’ versatility and future upgrade potential were important factors in the acquisition, with a wide range of cutting applications possible. “The range of tooling and automation also makes it possible for us to offer more sustainable solutions to our customers, with the C24 able to deliver quality end products from materials with a higher recycled content,” he said.
Rafiq Shaikh, Sales and Service leader for Kongsberg PCS, was at IndiaCorr to agree on the deal with Mohunta and CDS.
“The Kongsberg C24 delivers short-run production at the fastest possible speeds,” said Rafiq. “With its high speed of 100m/min and 1.7G acceleration, the C24 is designed for optimum performance and will enable CDS to boost productivity and increase turnaround time for its customers while still delivering the highest quality results.
“While the existing Kongsberg system at CDS continues to run very well, the investment in the new machine from the flagship C Series gives the business the edge over its competition,” he said. “The new table has seamless integration with the design software used by the company, and the innovative VariAngle, which enables cutting at any angle from 0o and 60o at high speeds, will give the design team total creative freedom to continue developing the innovative displays that have already won CDS a number of awards.”
