AeroLED2 will be launched as a higher power successor to GEW’s air-cooled AeroLED UV curing system

UK-based curing systems manufacturer GEW will introduce two new high-performance LED products at Labelexpo Americas 2024, adding to the company’s already diverse product portfolio. The AeroLED2 will be launched as a refined successor to GEW’s air-cooled AeroLED UV curing system, while LeoLED2 takes LED performance to new heights over the already highly-acclaimed, water-cooled LeoLED system.

AeroLED2 for label and narrow web applications

The AeroLED2 delivers an increased power level when compared to the original AeroLED model, for faster printing across more applications. It is also newly available for wider web widths, to cater for more presses in the narrow web market.

It maintains the key attributes of the earlier model: it is ArcLED compatible, meaning that it can easily be interchanged with GEW’s Arc lamp systems and it maintains GEW’s unique centralized fan cooling architecture.

LeoLED2 for sheetfed and industrial applications

The LeoLED2 introduces two power level options to GEW’s acclaimed water-cooled system. The regular power option offers modest gains over the original LeoLED, while maintaining backward compatibility. The high power option, however, brings game-changing increases in UV irradiance and dose over its predecessor, delivering unprecedented performance for the most extreme curing challenges in the packaging market.

The LeoLED2 maintains the key attributes of the earlier model: it is ArcLED compatible, meaning that it can easily be interchanged with GEW’s Arc lamp systems, and the same level of temperature control and condensation protection. It is also fully backward compatible with LeoLED, featuring the exact same connections and external dimensions.

GEW at Labelexpo Americas

While GEW will feature its full range at Labelexpo Americas, the focus will be on its renowned label and narrow web products. GEW is uniquely placed in the UV curing market and able to offer a solution for almost every printing, coating and converting application, due to the breadth of its product range across both UV Arc and UV LED curing technologies. Labelexpo Americas will be held from 10 – 12 September 2024, at Donald E. Stephens Convention Center, Chicago.

GEW will highlight its renowned ‘ArcLED’ technology, whereby UV Arc and UV LED lampheads can be simply and quickly interchanged on a press. ArcLED capability is available with almost every type of GEW system installation, whether for narrow web, mid or wide web machinery, and across a broad range of applications. With ArcLED, both Arc and LED cassettes are compatible with the same power supply and fit in the same housing, for ultimate press flexibility.

A further benefit of ArcLED is that it enables the customer to invest in any combination of Arc and LED in the short-term, safe in the knowledge that the investment is future-proofed. The UV system configuration can be altered or fully upgraded to LED at a later date, and with minimal disruption.

Robert Rae, managing director of Sales at GEW, says, “We have so much to offer the customer, across such a broad range of UV curing applications. Now, with the introduction of AeroLED2 and LeoLED2 to our range, we have the highest performing, most reliable LED systems in the market.”

He concludes, “We are looking forward to welcoming customers old and new to our stand, and having the opportunity to show off these ground-breaking new products. We believe that AeroLED2 will become the default UV curing solution for label and narrow web, as its capabilities are now extended to cater for the entire market.”
