After four successful editions, India Pharma Awards, organized by UBM India, returned for the fifth edition to Mumbai. The award ceremony was held on the evening of 27 November at Westin Hotel in Goregaon, Mumbai. The India Pharma Awards celebrate the excellence and innovation of industry stalwarts.

The event was a packed one with some of the biggest Indian pharma companies and personalities from the industry gracing the show. The awards were given under 18 different categories, such as excellence in ancillary pharma services, excellence in brand/product – new launch, excellence in marketing, among others. The evening also saw performance from a local dance troupe as well as a stand-up comedy performance by Rahul Subramaniam.

The first award was given in the category of excellence in ancillary pharma services to Doshi Consultants. The award for excellence in brand/product – consistent performance went to Mylan India while Eli Lilly and Company India received the award for excellence in brand/product – new launch. Akums Drugs & Pharmaceuticals won the award for excellence in contract research and manufacturing.

Some other highlights of the award function were Chakravarthi AVPS of Ecobliss being recognized for his contribution to the pharma packaging sector and Parekhplast India getting special recognition for excellence in Make in India enablement.
