“Last year we were at Pack Expo Las Vegas and the kind of response we received was phenomenal. This led us to participate at Pack Expo International again. We met visitors from not only US but also Canada, Mexico and other Central American countries. We found it to be a very good show,” says Nandhini S. Kumar, manager-exports, Sanjeev Flexi Pack.
Sanjeev Flexi Pack manufactures laminated rolls, variety of laminated pouches and carry bags. It manufacturing unit is located in the suburb of Bhiwandi. The facility has an in-house designing and prepress studio. Some of the machinery and equipment include rotogravure printing line and digital press, solvent based as well as solvent less lamination machines, converting equipment like slitting, seaming, cutting, pouching, bag making and inspection machines.
Sanjeev has plans to unveil some interesting products at the Pack Expo International which will be mainly for more developed markets. “Without giving away too much I would like to say that we will we showing three different types of spouts. There are premium solutions meant mainly for high income, developed markets like the US and Canada. No Indian manufacturer is providing these kind of solutions at the moment,” says Kumar. Kumar added that the company would use the Pack Expo platform to also look for a permanent full-time representative for the North American market. Currently, Sanjeev has a part-time representative for the market. “Having a full-time representative would not only help us in generating consistent business but would also ease the way we operate in the North American market.”
In addition to meeting potential representative, Kumar would be looking to meet end users and contract packers or copackers. A copacker is a company that manufactures and packages foods or similar products for their clients. To market and distribute, a copacker works under contract with the hiring company to manufacture food as though the products were manufactured directly by the hiring company.
With new products set to be unveiled at pack Expo, Sanjeev hopes to expand in the vast North American market. Currently, the region generates very little business for the company but Kumar hopes that would change in coming years.
