At Printpack 2019, Esko announced the sale of its Kongsberg X24 sign light starter and ArtiosCAD 2D and layout tools to AP India for soft signage, display and packaging applications. The company, AP India recently expanded to the packaging segment from its ongoing commercial printing segment. With the new ArtiosCAD 2D and layout solutions offered by Esko, the Delhi-based AP India will be able to ensure structural accuracy.
Originally a commercial printer, AP India saw the growth in the signage, display and rigid boxes industry and ventured into new applications. The company is combining its offset capabilities with its screen printing and digital offering to enter the signage segment.
Apart from the other investments, the company also wanted to have a system for producing the right designs and finish them perfectly as per the customer’s requirements and deliver the product timely. This led AP India to invest in the CAD and CAM solutions from Esko. Apart from that, the company has also invested in a Kongsberg X24 for making paper board, sun board and corrugated boards which they can print either on offset, screen or on digital or do a combination of two or more and process them immediately.
The hardware as well as the software supplied by Esko is up and running at AP’s unit in New Delhi. The production has begun and the company is doing short runs as well. The company recently shifted to a bigger unit in the Okhla Industrial Area, which houses the company’s broad range of printing units.
