BST’s exhibit at Barcelona focused on the introduction of the TubeScan V8 system, the newest generation of its 100% inspection, featuring smarter false-defect prevention and parallel inspection using multiple lighting modes. As shown to us on the stand by Khushal Patel, BST’s director of sales and marketing in India, the extremely fast system is able to scan and process variable images and text or labels or security codes and other visual features at the full web speeds of label presses.

This functionality on the newest 100% inspection is relevant to the smart packaging and smart label features using variable codes and security features such as QR codes to spot defects, comparing them to the PDF file in the system. A new matrix camera sensor CLS CAM 200 for high-precision web guiding based on contrast features was shown, as well as the TTBView, a Top-To-Bottom viewing system for the precise alignment for double-sided printing. The SmartData platform for networking production data for transparent analysis and faster decision-making was shown at the stand.

BST has a dominant market share in web guiding and vision systems for quality and defect detection amongst global press and equipment manufacturers. These include Nilpeter globally – including its India plant, Bobst, MPS, Graphotronics, HP, Prati, Rotatek, Omet, Lombardy, and Lemaro. Indian equipment manufacturers such as Multitech, Vinsak, UV Graphics, Webtech, NBG, Naph Graphics, Jandhu, and Vinsak, also use BST web guiding and vision systems provided by BST Eltromat India.
