Amcor’s Exclusive stick enables the refill to be ready to use as it can be easily inserted into the original pack, minimizing contact with the formula to prevent any product contamination.

Amcor, a global name in developing and producing responsible packaging solutions, has announced that the simple, mess-free and hygienic refill process for its Exclusive stick has made it the ideal choice for French natural hair expert Cut by Fred’s Detox Stick Shampoo. Amcor was also able to supply the smaller volumes required for this specialist product.

A refillable pack provides a circular solution by keeping materials in circulation for as long as possible. However, Cut By Fred’s original refill pack for the shampoo required consumers to melt the refill in a microwave and manually transfer it to the container before placing it in the fridge to solidify. This complicated procedure was affecting sales of the refill.

Amcor’s Exclusive stick enables the refill to be ready to use as it can be easily inserted into the original pack, minimizing contact with the formula to prevent any product contamination. As well as the simple refill procedure, the design of the Exclusive, incorporating precision-made parts, provides ease of use and accurate application of the shampoo, with no need to touch the product.

The stick fulfils Cut By Fred’s commitment to more sustainable packaging: the original 75 ml container weighs 55 g, while each refill weighs just 18 g, delivering a substantial material saving. Cut by Fred offers the refill with a valuable cost saving for its customers.

In addition, both the Exclusive stick and refill are made entirely from polypropylene. This mono-material construction means that the packs can be recycled, where appropriate collection and recycling facilities exist, once they reach their end of life.

“We want our products to be not only good for humans, but especially for the planet, and that extends to our choice of packaging,” said Marion Lhermitte of Cut By Fred. “It is equally important that our products and packaging deliver the best consumer experience. With the Exclusive, we have been able to achieve both objectives.”

The Exclusive stick offers a straight sides design across both the base and cap to create an attractive profile with a large decoration area that enables Cut By Fred to establish strong branding. The stick and refill range, available in sizes from 15 ml to 75 ml, is part of Amcor’s B Circular portfolio of products designed to help companies offer more sustainable packaging.

“Our Exclusive Refill is the perfect demonstration of how Amcor can help companies be more sustainable in line with the PPWR and enhance the consumer experience without compromising on the performance and effectiveness of their packaging,” said Marine Sueur, sales director for France at Amcor. “We’re delighted to have been able to support such a pioneering brand as Cut By Fred.”

Established in 2018 by hairdresser Frédéric Birault, Cut By Fred’s mission is to offer expert clean hair care products that combine “natural efficiency and sensoriality to reveal all hair types.” The company is committed to creating products that meet strict formulation criteria, including at least 97% natural origin ingredients, vegan and 100% natural fragrances. Its environmental stewardship covers not only more sustainable products but also more sustainable packaging.
