LyondellBasell unveils new polypropylene impact copolymer: Pro-Fax EP648R

LyondellBasell, one of the world’s largest producers of polymers and a leader in polyolefin technologies, has introduced the Pro-Fax EP648R, a new polypropylene impact copolymer designed to meet challenging performance demands across a wide range of industries.

“Pro-Fax EP648R embodies our dedication to innovation and delivering differentiated solutions for our customers,” said James Deaton, LYB commercial manager. “It’s a reliable, high-performing resin that meets the evolving needs of today’s demanding applications.”

Pro-Fax EP648R strikes the perfect balance between impact resistance and stiffness, making it ideal for high-performance injection-molded products like garden furniture, crates, pails, caps & closures and thin-walled packaging.

This new grade uses advanced nucleation technology to boost rigidity without sacrificing toughness, delivering a mechanical profile that rivals or surpasses top market alternatives. It also contains an anti-static additive which aids with easy part ejection during molding, saving converters time and money due to high-speed cycle times when paired with the resin’s advanced nucleation.

With Pro-Fax EP648R, LYB is expanding its reach into new applications, including rigid food packaging, consumer goods, appliances and industrial sectors where strength, dimensional stability and impact resistance are essential. This launch reflects the ongoing LYB commitment to innovation and creating customer-focused solutions that support sustainable living.

Backed by LYB global supply chain and technical expertise, Pro-Fax EP648R ensures consistent quality, dependable delivery and responsive support.
