artience India (formerly Toyo Ink India), a subsidiary of Japan’s artience Group, showcased its latest sustainable packaging solutions and announced major infrastructure expansions at PlastIndia 2026 in New Delhi.
The company, which operates as a single-source provider for integrated printing and packaging solutions, highlighted its transition towards eco-friendly materials and high-efficiency production to meet the demands of India’s rapidly growing packaging market.
A central focus of Toyo Ink’s presentation was its focus on sustainability through the development of water-based inks and solvent-free lamination adhesives. These products are engineered for flexographic and gravure printing, offering high concentration and low residual solvent content, which makes them suitable for a wide range of flexible packaging applications.
Additionally, the company featured its food-grade UV and LED inks, which are designed for indirect food contact with low odor and low migration properties, ensuring they comply with strict global safety standards such as the Swiss Ordinance.
Beyond product innovation, artience India unveiled significant plans to scale its manufacturing capabilities. “The company is currently expanding its liquid ink production at its Gujarat facility, a project scheduled for completion in 2028 that will boost its total output by 1.5 times,” Arun Dhiman, deputy manager – technical services, liquid inks, said.
“This expansion is intended to alleviate capacity constraints as the plant nears its limits and to establish the Gujarat site as a future regional export hub. This facility also emphasizes green operations by utilizing solar energy to power its plants and offices, generating over 600 MWH of electricity annually.”
The company also highlighted its diverse portfolio, which includes color masterbatches, pressure-sensitive adhesives, and functional coatings used across various industrial markets.
By leveraging the artience Group’s advanced technology, Toyo Ink India aims to address modern societal challenges through innovative chemistry and to maintain its leadership in the Indian liquid ink and plastic colorant sectors.
