DuPont India showcased its complete range of photopolymer plates for the corrugated industry at the recently concluded IndiaCorr Expo 2022, where it talked about the benefits of thinner gauge plates.
“We used the IndiaCorr Expo platform to connect with the Indian corrugation industry after almost two years. We showcased a variety of photopolymer plates for application in the corrugation industry,” said Gururaj Kirsur, sales leader of South Asia for Cyrel Solutions.
Gururaj said that the DuPont team had been talking to the industry about the benefits of thinner gauge photopolymer plates, and this was a theme at IndiaCorr Expo as well.
“We have been trying to educate the industry about the benefits of thinner gauge photopolymer plates. By using thinner gauge plates, customers would address the issue of sustainability. The thinner your plate is, the less material will be used to make that plate. This makes it more environment-friendly since less material is being used and the wastage is lesser,” he said.
A few years ago, DuPont Advanced Printing launched the DuPont Cyrel DLC. Cyrel DLC is an innovative soft digital plate that uses a new polymer formulation developed especially for the corrugated market. Its low durometer is designed for better printing on lower quality, recycled, and thinner liner corrugated board using water-based inks.
Indian corrugation industry is growing
Gururaj said that the response at the IndiaCorr Expo was excellent and shows that the industry is growing.
“The Indian corrugation industry is growing. Printers are adopting the latest technologies. Modernization of the Indian corrugated industry will continue to be driven by factors such as growth in eCommerce,” Gururaj said.
