At PrintPack India 2017, Artize Die Makers, Bobst and Magnesium Elecktron organized a knowledge-based seminar themed ‘Improve your postpress efficiency with the help of improvement in process and the knowledge of process’. The seminar was attended by owners, production managers and decision makers of several packaging companies from across the country.

While Mukul Luthra of Artize spoke about the general diecutting issues, cutting different substrates, role of cutting plate in the diecutting process, stripping tools and its importance and best practices, Abhijit Kavathekar and Sachin Patil from Bobst discussed in depth the benefits of blanking and its viability, layout of blanking and diecutting as well as the blanking tool manufacturing process. Both Kavathekar and Patil also shared details about the blanking tool manufacturing facilities available at Bobst India. Also present at the seminar from Bobst India were Sunil Khodke and Sachin Mahajan who talked about the operator-training program offered by Bobst.

James Farell from magnesium Elecktron shared details about application of embossing and hot foil stamping blocks with properties of different material. In addition to this, the seminar had a guest speaker, Josef Daurer, from Voestalpine, Austria who spoke about the quality of different type of cutting and creasing rules, and their properties and benefits.

“The seminar was a great learning experience for us,” said Sachin Singhal of Packfraft Corrugate India, Kundli, Haryana, who attended the seminar. “We have changed the cutting plate on our automatic diecutting machine as recommended by Mr. Luthra during his presentation and achieved excellent results.”
