Ahmedabad-based Shubham Extrusion, one of the several Indian manufacturers of high-performance blown film lines, showcased its 3-layer IBC blown film line with live demonstrations at its Plastfocus stand. The blown film line with an internal bubble cooling was processing lamination film on the layer ratio of 1:2:1 when we visited the stand for a short interaction with the team. The raw material recipe for the film was provided by Exxon Mobil.

Highlighting the key features of the machine, Nikesh Jain, regional sales manager of Shubham Extrusion, pointed out its ability of producing films at 400-450 kilograms an hour with film thickness ranging from 20μm-200μm. “The blown film extrusion line processes food packaging flexible materials based on PE. The application of the film produced here lies in food packaging film, mulch film, courier film, shrink film, surface protection film, and many others,” Jain said. The machine being demonstrated at the show featured a fully automatic winder with PLC (Programmable logic controller) and touchscreen capability.

Apart from the live demonstration of the blown film line, the team promoted its entire portfolio of A-B two-layer, A-B-A three-layer, and ABC multilayer extrusion blown film lines. In our interaction, Jain informed us of the company’s introduction of 5,7,9-layer barrier and non-barrier blown film plant solutions at a competitive cost compared to American and European lines; these are being built in collaboration with Global Die & Extrusion Technology, Canada.

Jain noted that the exhibition would be highly beneficial for OEMs and customers as well. He was appreciative of the scale of the exhibits, which included half-a-dozen blown film lines apart from a number of injection molding devices. One of the first exhibitions at the architecturally interesting and largest convention centers in the country holds great promise according to him.
