
Packaging related to luxury products and alcoholic beverages generally tends to grab the maximum eyeballs. In the Worldstar Global Packaging Awards 2024 announced in Bangkok, the winners in the alcoholic beverages category covering wine, beer, and spirits, caught the fancy of the jury with the arty, intoxicating, and sleek designs complemented by elegant sustainable and recyclable packaging.

One such packaging was ITC’s new colorful Chivas18 limited-edition pack for Pernod Ricard India designed by interior and fashion designer Sussanne Khan. The WPO website says this is the first time a woman has curated a limited-edition pack of a whisky brand in India. Built on the theme of sustainability, with the touch of flora and fauna of the coastal region, the pack was unveiled at a soiree hosted at The Charcoal Project in Mumbai.

Other innovations that stood out are the fruit and herbal spirits labels of Dlabka Distillery from Czech Republic and Slovakia; Budweiser’s World Cup Limited Edition Aluminum Bottles; Maoyun (Luo Bin Shen Zhang), whose gold packaging expresses the oriental aesthetics of subtle elegance and naturalness; the Belle Rive Gin packaging’s sophisticated design or the Malak Beer from Lebanon, whose packaging brings the Malak family’s story to life for young, hip audiences.
