The Label Manufacturers Association of India (LMAI) is preparing for a landmark edition of its biennial conference, to be held in Udaipur from 3 to 6 July at Hotel Fairmount/ Hotel Aurika. Marking 25 years of the association’s journey, the event carries the theme ‘Emerging Beyond Boundaries’—a message that reflects the organizers’ ambition to push Indian label printers to think globally.
Speaking ahead of the event to Packaging South Asia, Manish Desai, chairman of the LMAI Conference Committee, said the central idea this year is to encourage Indian converters to move beyond a domestic outlook and recognize global opportunities. “We intend to help printers realize that the world is their market. India should not merely be a part of the global label supply chain—we want to build it into an industry hub in its own right,” he said.
The 2025 edition is expected to be significantly larger than previous conferences, both in scale and in participation. As LMAI celebrates its silver jubilee, the event budget has expanded accordingly. Desai noted that there is strong anticipation from both printer members and associate partners. “This year’s conference will be bigger and more ambitious. Everyone is looking forward to it,” he said.
According to Desai, the conference will feature 21 speakers, with a program that spans a range of current and emerging themes. The sessions will focus on technology advancements, the integration of artificial intelligence into label production, automation, and sustainability. “We want our delegates to come away with a clear vision of where the industry is headed and how they can position themselves for future success,” he said.
The speaker line-up includes prominent figures from the global label and packaging industry, as well as leaders from India’s top converting companies. In addition, the organizers have invited a motivational speaker from outside the sector to broaden the scope of discussion and provide new perspectives.
“The label industry is undergoing rapid transformation,” Desai added. “This conference will not only share knowledge—it will also help reshape the mindset of our community. We want to build confidence among Indian converters to expand their horizons and take bold steps beyond their traditional boundaries.”
With sessions designed to inspire, inform and connect, the Udaipur event is set to be a defining moment for India’s label industry as it looks to embrace its next phase of growth.
