At Anuga FoodTec 2025 in Mumbai, Syntegon India showcased its latest packaging innovations, underlining its focus on made-in-India solutions for the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) sector.

The company displayed the Pack 301 LS (Length Slug) horizontal flow wrapper, designed specifically for ‘biscuit-on-edge’ applications. The machine is ideal for handling round, rectangular, square, sandwich and cracker biscuits, enabling the familiar upright pack style seen in popular brands. Capable of operating at up to 250 packs per minute, the Pack 301 LS combines speed, efficiency and flexibility with robust design features that enhance uptime.

The Pack 301 LS comes with servo-controlled product transfer, ensuring precise synchronization between the transfer unit and the infeed chain, resulting in gentle handling and minimal product loss. Its cantilevered open design allows easy cleaning and changeovers, while features such as slug measuring units, film reel holders, temperature control via HMI, and automatic film splicing boost reliability. The system can handle slug lengths of up to 240 mm, reel widths up to 650 mm, and film speeds of 45 meters per minute.

Syntegon also presented the SVL 2310 continuous bagger, a vertical packaging system tailored for low-density snacks such as potato chips. The SVL 2310 features servo-driven sealing, film transport and vertical movement, achieving speeds of up to 105 bags per minute. Designed for flexibility, it supports both fin and lap seals, can handle MET/PET and BOPP films, and offers wide pouch style options, including pillow and chain bags.

The SVL 2310’s compact, lean construction and cantilever film reel carrier reduce footprint while simplifying film loading. A 12-inch touch-screen HMI, modular electrical panel, integrated inert gas flushing, stripping function, vacuum belt draw-off and optional online metal detector add to operator convenience and efficiency. With high uptime and reduced format changeover times, the machine addresses the growing demand for speed and consistency in the Indian savory market.

Speaking at the expo, Jai Shankar S of Syntegon India said the Mumbai event provides a strategic platform to connect with FMCG decision-makers, given that many leading brand headquarters are based in the city. “Customers are demanding faster machines, greater efficiency, less maintenance, and quicker ROI. At the same time, there is a strong push for localization, with FMCGs preferring Indian-made technology and services,” he noted.

Looking ahead, Syntegon is exploring further localization of critical components, such as servo motors, while also working on digital automation in internal processes like procurement to reduce costs. “The Indian packaging market is growing rapidly, driven by consumer demand and cost pressures. Our focus is on delivering advanced yet cost-effective technology that supports both sustainability and business growth,” Jai Shankar added.
