The Ipama-organized 15th PrintPack India show is currently on at the India Expo Centre & Mart in Greater Noida in the Delhi NCR. The exhibition features pre-press, print, post-press, finishing, converting, digital, signage, and packaging machines. Ancillary packaging materials, printing and publishing, paper and paper products, and logistics are also there.

There is a clear segregation of various segments at the show with halls 5 & 7 mainly for label machine manufacturers, 14 & 15 mainly for the corrugation industry, while halls 1, 3 & 9 have an assortment of industry segments. The stands have been planned keeping in mind the huge crowds, with room in the passageways. Sanitizer dispensers have been placed at key points, and the organizers are also supplying complimentary masks at the registration counters. Gaurav Mishra from IPP interacted with some of the visitors at the expo, and here’s what they have to say:

Sudhir M Kulkarni & Sivaraj J Shetty

Sudhir M Kulkarni from Print Factory Bengaluru and Sivaraj J Shetty from Janani Multicolor Offset Printers visited the 15th PrintPack India. Kulkarni comes from a packaging background and mostly deals with monocartons, while Shetty is a commercial and book printer.

“We have visited Printpack several times and this is our seventh visit. We just visited a few halls and the exhibition looks really fantastic this time. After the long hiatus due to the Covid-19 pandemic, we got a chance to interact with machine manufacturers face-to-face and observe the machines running live. We are looking to purchase machines to expand our production capacity with the latest technology.

“As the printing and packaging industries look at robust growth after the Covid-19 pandemic, we are seeing a growing demand. Our main goal behind visiting Printpack is to view the latest available technologies and get prices and quotes from the suppliers.”

Krishna Vamsi

Krishna Vamsi G, CEO of Vijayawada-based Sri Hanuman Enterprises visited the exhibition on the second day. “The show is crystal clear, precise, and relevant. I visited numerous stalls and had discussions with many suppliers and got a chance to watch live demonstrations of different technologies in one place. I also got to learn a lot about chemicals used for printing and packaging production.

Automation is a key part of my learning from this show. I will be here for all the days and hope to learn and observe more technologies. I am into carton packaging and my customers come from a variety of industries including pharma, confectionery, snacks, and luxury writing instruments. The exhibitors seem to have thoroughly researched customer needs and most of the exhibitors are showcasing products that match customer requirements. The PrintPack Show Daily published by IPP is very informative and practically beneficial. I found the map inside immensely useful in planning my way around the exhibition.”

Abhinav Arora, managing director of Karnal Art Press shares his Printpack India experience, “This is my third Printpack visit and I am thinking of purchasing a new machine and UV curing systems to upgrade my commercial printing and packaging businesses. There are many exciting technologies on display and observing them in reality and in action is a great experience. I attended an HP machine demo and it was fantastic. I also came across many demonstrations of offset printing presses and post-press machinery. I am a regular reader of Packaging South Asia magazine and it helps me keep abreast with the industry.

“The entire arrangement is very organized, with the organizers providing complimentary shuttle service. This show is really the heart and soul of the Indian printing and packaging industry.”

The impact, resilience, and growth of responsible packaging in a wide region are daily chronicled by Packaging South Asia.

A multi-channel B2B publication and digital platform such as Packaging South Asia is always aware of the prospect of new beginnings and renewal. Its 16-year-old print monthly, based in New Delhi, India has demonstrated its commitment to progress and growth. The Indian and Asian packaging industries have shown resilience in the face of ongoing challenges over the past three years.

As we present our publishing plan for 2023, India’s real GDP growth for the financial year ending 31 March 2023 will reach 6.3%. Packaging industry growth has exceeded GDP growth even when allowing for inflation in the past three years.

The capacity for flexible film manufacturing in India increased by 33% over the past three years. With orders in place, we expect another 33% capacity addition from 2023 to 2025. Capacities in monocartons, corrugation, aseptic liquid packaging, and labels have grown similarly. The numbers are positive for most of the economies in the region – our platform increasingly reaches and influences these.

Even given the disruptions of supply chains, raw material prices, and the challenge of responsible and sustainable packaging, packaging in all its creative forms and purposes has significant headroom to grow in India and Asia. Our context and coverage engulf the entire packaging supply chain – from concept to shelf and further – to waste collection and recycling. We target brand owners, product managers, raw material suppliers, packaging designers and converters, and recyclers.

In an admittedly fragmented and textured terrain, this is the right time to plan your participation and marketing support communication – in our impactful and highly targeted business platform.
