The Pashupati Group, a leading Indian recycler of plastic waste and supplier of high-quality recycled products, has joined forces with cleantech innovator Recykal to streamline the supply of post-consumer recycled resin (PCR), a critical component in the march towards sustainability and circular economy principles.
The Pashupati Group’s alliance with Recykal marks a new partnership in sustainable production practices. By integrating Recykal’s tech-driven marketplace, Recykal8, Pashupati Group is expected to enhance its capacity to source high-quality PCR materials.
“This collaboration is more than a business venture; it’s a commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of manufacturing processes, promoting circularity, and meeting the growing demand for sustainable products,” Recykal said in a post on its Linkedin page.
Recykal, a known name in the circular economy space, has developed Recykal8, a sophisticated marketplace designed to efficiently channel post-consumer recycled resin to meet market demands. This platform serves as a crucial connector between brand owners, recyclers, and manufacturers, ensuring the availability of PCR materials for sustainable product packaging.
Brands to benefit
The partnership between Pashupati Group and Recykal is poised to significantly benefit brands looking to incorporate sustainable practices into their product lines. By ensuring a steady supply of PCR, brands can now more easily comply with upcoming regulations mandating the use of recycled materials in packaging. This initiative not only supports environmental goals but also aligns with consumer preferences for eco-conscious products, Recykal said.

This collaboration between the Pashupati Group, a 45-year giant in manufacturing sustainable recycled resins, and Recykal, reinforces the shared commitment of both organizations to boost the channelization of PCR resins to meet the increasing demand of brands and manufacturers.
Pashupati Group has been at the helm of creating sustainable solutions by recycling plastics, including PETfou and Polyolefin. Pashupati Group has four recycling facilities and two packaging facilities across India with a total of 300,000 tonnes processing capacity, preventing 10 million pet Bottles and two million polyolefin bottles daily from going to landfills or water bodies.

March to sustainability
Recently, Sabic, a global leader in the chemical industry, had also signed a memorandum of understanding with the Pashupati Group to develop local recycling opportunities in India, and expand Sabic’s global network of qualified recycling partners. As part of the MoU, both companies will share best practices and exchange knowledge in the various processes of used plastic material, including developing methods and to add value in processing using virgin polyolefin and recycled polyolefin, to both compounded and non-compounded finished products.
Last year, Pashupati Group has also signed a deal with Borouge, a leading Abu Dhabi-based petrochemical company providing polyolefin solutions for packaging to create a synergy between the two companies by bringing together their individual expertise in developing innovative solutions in collection, sorting and recycling as well as developing new sustainable materials for a better future.
