Dhunseri Poly Films, a wholly owned subsidiary of Dhunseri Ventures, has ordered the world’s fastest and first of its kind BOPET film production line from Brückner Maschinenbau for its site in Panagarh, West Bengal. The machine capacity is rated at a constant production speed of 700 meters per minute, and when installed would be the fastest PET production line in India.

“We want to be fully prepared for the anticipated growth in our industry. Following the successful start-up of our first BOPET line in 2023, we are excited to continue working closely with Brückner on this new project,” said CK Dhanuka, chairman of Dhunseri Ventures. Johann Kreilinger, head of Sales Middle East, Subcontinent & Africa at Brückner, underlines, “Together, we are setting a new benchmark with the world’s first BOPET line designed for a production speed of 700 meters per minute – a true milestone for innovation and leadership in the industry.”

The investment marks a technological milestone in film production and sends a strong signal from both companies, reinforcing their commitment to innovation and excellence in the Indian BOPET market. The new biaxial film line will set new standards for efficiency and productivity – higher output with lower production costs – positioning Dhunseri Poly Films as a pioneer in the industry.

According Brückner’s press release, the first joint BOPET line at Dhunseri’s Panagarh site is already a success story, featuring cutting-edge technologies such as the multi-gap MDO for high-temperature stretching and the advanced ‘FOK 8.8’ sliding chain track system, for ensuring high-speed operation with significantly reduced maintenance costs. The new line, being a world’s first is expected to be an even more impressive installation.

Dhunseri Ventures Limited is a major player in the petrochem business with plants in India and Egypt. The company entered into a 50:50 joint venture with Indorama Ventures, a global chemical producer for bottle grade PET business in India and Egypt. Dhunseri Poly Films, a 100% subsidiary of Dhunseri Ventures, was founded in 2020 for the implementation of the new project for manufacturing of biaxially oriented films.
