Speaking to Packaging South Asia, RD Nayak, managing director of Nice Prints, said, “Earlier we used a flatbed diecutter to meet our demands but with the installation of Bobst Visionfold 80 folder-gluer and Novacut 106 diecutter, we have increased our productivity within a short timeframe. A Novacut 106 diecutter can operate at the speed of 8,000 sheets an hour.
Various other efficient features of Novacut 106 and Visionfold 80 include the size and ergonomic design of the machine, excellent quality with low maintenance and operator-friendly features for ease of operation. In Novacut 106 the makeready time can extend from 30 to 45 minutes and the setting of the machine can be recorded so that repetitive orders can be diecut with less waste and downtime.
Apart from postpress equipment, Nice Prints is also planning to install a Heidelberg CD 102 5-color plus coater in January 2016. “We have already installed two Heidelberg presses – Heidelberg SM 74 4-color and a two color offset press. Most of the jobs at our end are a combination of four process and Pantone colors. Having an in-line coater is essential for commercial and packaging jobs. Thus, we decided to go with a five color single coater with a maximum sheet size of 28 x 40 inches,” says Nayak.
Apart from new installations, the plant is equipped with a Heidelberg CtP and Protek plate exposer and processor in prepress and two polar programmable cutting machines, four Pratham paper folding machines, SOEI paper folding machine, Autoprint Repetto 65 diecutter, 4-hand platen diecutter, Autoprint fine coat 80 coating machine, window packing machine, cardinal carton folder and lamination machines in the postpress section.
“Nice Prints is equipped with the latest technological equipment to ensure high quality and fast turnaround. A high level of redundancy and minimum dependence on outsourcing makes us a reliable partner,” concludes Nayak.
