Jindal Films has announced the completion of a new metallizer installation at its Brindisi plant in Italy. The addition of this metallizer increases JFE’s metallization capacity, enabling the company to support the growing demand for recyclable barrier BOPP (biaxially oriented polypropylene) and BOPE (biaxially oriented polyethylene) films.
The new metallizer with a width of over 3.7 meters was installed in late 2024 and is now fully operational, marking a major milestone in JFE’s ongoing commitment to meeting the growing demand for high-quality, sustainable films. With this new line, JFE will continue to grow its diverse portfolio of high-barrier metallized films, in particular further expanding the innovative Alox-Lyte and ultra high-barrier products, as well as broadening the range of Ethy-Lyte metallized films.
Manfred F. Kaufmann, CEO of JFE, commented: “We are thrilled to increase our slit metallized film capacity with a clear focus on high-barrier solutions, now reaching 2.000MT/m. This new metallizer strengthens our commitment to providing sustainable, recyclable packaging solutions. Our metalized BOPP and BOPE films, along with our Alox-Lyte product range, are increasingly being embraced by customers to help create mono-material, fully recyclable packaging structures.”
This installation is a crucial step in JFE’s strategy to support the growing demand for high-quality, sustainable films while contributing to a circular economy. By further expanding its metalized film offerings, JFE continues to lead in the development of innovative packaging solutions that meet both performance and environmental goals.
JFE, as part of the global Jindal Films group, is a leading producer of high-performance films for packaging, labeling, and industrial applications.
