At India CorrExpo 2025 in Greater Noida, Ample Graphics showcased its high-speed 5-ply flute laminator, focusing on automation in the corrugation and packaging industry. Ample Graphics has been a regular participant at India CorrExpo since its inception.

Founded in 2010, Ample Graphics entered the Indian market at a time when Chinese machines were starting to find space, but faced skepticism over quality and after-sales support. “Back then, many Chinese machines were entering India, but customers were not satisfied with the quality or serviceability. That’s where we saw an opportunity,” recalls Rajeev Jagga from Ample Graphics.

According to him, Ample Graphics started with a clear mission to bring quality Chinese automatic machines to India while ensuring strong service backup. “What differentiated us from the beginning was that we only collaborated with top-tier Chinese manufacturers, those ranking among the top five in their segment. Beyond that, we didn’t even consider it as a source,” he explains.

Initially, Ample Graphics supplied premium customers by offering fully automatic machines. However, with the growing demand in the Indian market, the company expanded its portfolio to include semi-automatic equipment as well.

As stated by Jagga, the 5-ply flute laminator on display is one of the fastest machines of its kind. “This high-speed laminator runs at 120 meters per minute in 5-ply mode and can achieve up to 200 meters per minute in 3-ply mode. Even in China, this ranks among the fastest flute laminators.”

The machine has been installed at companies such as Vijayshri and Bhama Group in Indore, Mehamia Shoe Packaging, Bahadurgarh, and more. Jagga says that while earlier models were considered expensive compared to other alternatives in the market, the new version offers better pricing along with higher speed, making it more attractive for Indian converters.

Growth of corrugation and the shift toward printed packaging

Discussing the industry landscape, Jagga emphasizes the rapid growth of corrugation within the packaging sector. “Among all segments of packaging, corrugation is growing the fastest. Over the past four to five years, we have seen a clear transformation from plain brown boxes to printed, visually appealing corrugated packaging,” he says.

This change has been driven by evolving consumer expectations. Earlier, monocartons and smaller packs saw most of the investment in design and print, while bulkier items continued to be shipped in plain brown corrugated boxes. However, the growing demand for aesthetic packaging across all product categories has changed the market.

Future prediction

Looking ahead, Ample Graphics sees its core focus on automation. With rising labor costs and increased emphasis on productivity, Indian converters are steadily moving from manual to semi-automatic and from semi-automatic to fully automatic equipment.

“India is no longer a country offering cheap labor. Customers now clearly understand the benefits of productivity and quality. Post-Covid, this shift has become even more visible. Automation is no longer a hard sell; it has become a natural progression,” says Jagga.

He explains that semi-automatic converters naturally graduate to automatic machines as their volumes grow, while manual converters are increasingly transitioning to semi-automatic solutions. “It’s an automatic sale, especially for semi-automatic customers upgrading to automatic. Manual to semi-automatic still requires some persuasion, but the trend is clear,” he adds.
