Kroenert
Andrea Glawe of Kroenert at Elite Plus

At the 11th Speciality Films & Flexible Packaging Global Business Summit 2024, organized by Elite Plus, Andrea Glawe, regional sales director of Kroenert, discussed the company’s latest solutions, focusing on sustainability and flexibility tailored for the Indian market.

In an exclusive interview with Packaging South Asia, Glawe said Kroenert’s approach centers around delivering specialized solutions that enable customers to acquire the equipment suited to their needs. This process involves a detailed analysis of each product’s requirements, allowing Kroenert to design machines that offer high flexibility and adhere to sustainable practices by minimizing CO2 emissions.

Glawe argued that reducing carbon footprints is becoming increasingly essential across various sectors, with numerous industries and brand owners prioritizing environmental impact. Kroenert’s solutions address this demand by offering detailed information on a product’s CO2 footprint. From chemistry and substrate to the final product, Kroenert’s technology manages the entire process with efficiency and precision, allowing Indian manufacturers to operate more sustainably.

India holds strategic importance

The Indian market holds strategic importance for Kroenert, especially in the specialty films segment for flexible packaging. In particular, Kroenert has made substantial inroads into the medical sector, specifically with medical barrier coatings for blister packaging, Glawe said.

Kroenert has collaborated with Michaelman in setting up the latter’s demo center in Mumbai. This enables Kroenert to conduct small-scale product trials before moving to full-scale production, enhancing efficiency and innovation, she said.

Looking ahead, Glawe sees the Indian market as a rapidly growing hub with significant potential for new products and applications. While the market is price-sensitive, there is strong demand for high-precision, high-speed equipment that meets specific technical needs. She said that her company is well-positioned to fulfill these requirements, establishing itself as a reliable partner for companies across India seeking customized, sustainable solutions.
