At PlastIndia Delhi, BST India displayed a live demo unit in the form of a rewinding machine equipped with multiple in-line systems. The setup featured a range of technologies, including web video inspection, 100% defect detection, web guiding systems, viscosity control, and tension measurement solutions. The display aimed to give visitors a real-time understanding of how these systems work in tandem to ensure production efficiency and quality consistency.
Kushal Patel elaborated on the company’s defect detection technology. “What we are displaying here is our 100% defect detection system, known as the TubeScan XL, for wide web rotogravure and flexo printing,” he said. Designed for high-speed operations, the system can function at speeds of up to 450 meters per minute, ensuring comprehensive inspection across the entire web width.
Patel said the TubeScan XL offers flexibility in deployment. It can be installed directly on production lines or integrated with docking machines, with or without workflow connectivity. “You get the entire repeat on a viewing screen and HMI, and every defect will be detected and displayed,” he explained.
In addition to defect detection, the company showcased its load cell-based tension-control systems, which ensure optimal web tension throughout the production process, as well as advanced web-guiding solutions that enhance alignment accuracy. The viscosity control system highlighted BST India’s focus on maintaining print quality by regulating ink consistency in real time.
Patel described PlastIndia as a key platform for industry engagement. “It’s a premier exhibition with maximum footfall, so it is a must for us to participate,” he said. He said such events provide valuable opportunities not only to connect with new customers but also to strengthen relationships with existing clients.
On the broader industry outlook, Patel said, “Growth is always there; it depends on which segment you are focusing on. As long as you work diligently and demonstrate the value you bring to customers, they will stay with you,” he noted, highlighting the importance of consistent performance and customer-centricity.
Looking ahead, BST India places strong emphasis on innovation and localization. Patel said the company is actively working on bringing advanced European technologies to India through indigenous manufacturing. pointing towards a future where India could emerge as a hub for high-end inspection and control solutions, he said, “A lot of German technology will be replicated in India, and very soon it will be from India to Europe.”
