BST eltromat India is extremely bullish about the prospects of its new automation division launched in collaboration with Italy’s Grafica Elettronica. Khushal Patel, director, sales and marketing, BST Eltromat said during the recently concluded Labelexpo India 2018, “We have extremely high expectation out of our recently launched automation division given the way we have planned this new venture and the kind of solutions we will be offering to the packaging industry.”
In June 2018, BST eltromat and Grafica announced the launch of a new vertical and a month later the two signed a joint venture agreement. With this new association BST eltromat India and Grafica can provide complete turnkey solutions in automation. BST eltromat India will deliver fully integrated and modular automation solutions to machine manufacturers and end users across the globe to automate their various process work-flows for new machines and older machines by way of retrofits.
Patel declined to disclose the names of the customers the company is already working with but said that the company’s target audience comprises mainly of high-end machine manufacturers who want to stand apart from the rest of the competition and understand the value of state-of-the-art technology. “Our plan is to go slow initially and work with only a limited number of customers. We want to prove ourselves and build a trust factor with the customers,” Patel said, adding that the company will be talking in detail about its automation division and the customers it is working with at the upcoming Arabplast show slated for January 2019 in Dubai.
Grafica Elettronica, established in 1987, operates in industrial automation system, specializing in manufacturing of control panels, PLCM automation system, electric and mechanical designing and putting into service and technical assistance. It has in-depth domain knowledge in flexography, rotogravure and all ancillary equipment used by flexible packaging convertors.
At Labelexpo, BST eltromat demonstrated its 100% print inspection systems TubeScan Digital and Shark LEX as well as web video system PowerScope 5000 for narrow web applications. Patel said that the TubeScan Digital system on display is much-evolved system from what it was during the last Labelexpo India.
“We had showcased the TubeScan system at the last Labelexpo as well, but the system displayed this time is a much evolved one. There are major differences between the older generation of TubeScan and the latest generation in terms of resolution, clarity, camera quality and software,” Patel shared.
Talking about the response at Labelexpo, Patel said the event served as a great platform to meet with existing customers as well as potential ones. “At Labelexpo we got to meet with people who we were in touch with only over the phone. We met with some potential customers and we also got encouraging feedback about our solutions,” Patel concluded.
