In addition, Kodak will showcase a turnkey system for Flexography, a complete end-to-end prepress solution. “We have the Flexcel NX System ’16, the latest technology in digital flexo imaging that pushes the bar of quality. At the event, we will also speak about the unique SRX that is SRX plate with NX, that gives a result on par with other digital technologies,” says Hersh Lulla of Kodak.
Lulla adds, “DITR Film is our digital film that is environment-friendly, doesn’t require any chemicals or human intervention. This consumable is a true digital solution that goes into the Flexcel NX Imager and comes out ready to use. It is suitable for variety of applications – analogue plates, screen printing applications, and many more. We will also talk about our leadership with Kodak’s Letterpress products, both analogue and digital.”
Kodak’s inkjet focus will be on Kodak’s Prosper heads, or S-Series printheads. In varying speed variants, these heads can provide packaging printers with tremendous capability. “From Continuous Ink Jet (CIJ) to Stream Inkjet, and now the scalable Ultrastream Inkjet printing modules, we look to help our customers as they cater to a lot of potential flexible printing applications. With Ultrastream technology printheads, the possibilities are endless as printers can work with 600 x 1800 dpi image quality at speeds up to 500 feet per minute, that too on a wide array of paper and plastic substrates. A key highlight in inkjet will be Kodak’s XGV (Extended Gamut Varnish) Hybrid System that uses a water based inkjet solution to print CMYKOGV + digital varnish, matching up to 98% of brand colours without changing any inks,” says Lulla.
