IMA-Hassia media event in Pune on 22 July 2014IMA CEOs arrive for Oystar Hassia acquisition announcementOn 22 July 2015, Andrea Malagoli, CEO, IMA S.p.A, Markus Ehl, CEO, IMA Dairy & Food Holding  along with K Ravi, managing director of Hassia India, will be addressing a press conference at Hotel Hyatt Regency in Pune to announce the formal acquisition of the Oystar Group of companies by IMA (Industria Macchine Automatiche) with a turnover in excess of 1 billion Euro. The press conference will be held from 11.30 am to 12.30 pm followed by lunch and a networking session for those attending the event.K Ravi, managing director of Hassia IndiaIn December 2014, the Bologna (Italy) based international Industria Macchine Automatiche (IMA Group) acquired the Oystar Group of companies, a major player in packaging of dairy products and foods. The merger created one of the largest global packaging companies in this segment with combined revenues of 1.25 billion Euros. The Oystar Group of companies includes the five top packaging machinery brands of Germany and France namely, Benhill, Erca, Gasti, Hamba and Hassia and was owned by private equity investor Odewald prior to the merger.

“Our product portfolio starts from simple cup fillers to highly sophisticated servo-controlled multilane auger fillers in the filling systems says Bhakti Dakwale, assistant manager – marketing of Hassia Packaging India. “In the bagging segment we have an entire range of modular solutions to suit different requirements of the clients. We have a wide range of applications that range from packing milk powder, food, snacks, chemicals, cosmetics, detergents, grains, seeds and rice.”

The IMA Group of companies, a major global player in the processing and packaging of food, dairy products, beverages, pharmaceuticals and cosmetics is listed on the Milan Stock Exchange. The company has operations in more than 80 countries and has over 30 manufacturing centres in Italy, Germany, France, Spain, UK, Switzerland, China and the US. The Group also has a presence in India since 1995 and has manufacturing operations in Thane, Mumbai under the name IMA Pharma, that produces blister pack machines, thermoforming machines for blisters and trays, cartoning and tube filling machines. The press conference to be held in Pune will be followed by a networking session where the visiting dignitaries will meet industry leaders, clients and partners of Hassia Packaging India.
