Ahmedabad-based Acme Rolltech put up a very successful show at the PlastIndia 2023 show held in New Delhi from 1-5 February. This was the first PlastIndia for Acme, which had participated in the K-Show in Germany and LabelExpo India in Greater Noida last year.

Acme Rolltech showcased its made-in-India anilox rolls for stack flexo presses along with anilox sleeves for high-end CI flexo presses such as W&H, Bobst, Uteco, Comexi and KYMC, Sandeep Sharma, director of Acme Rolltech told Packaging South Asia. The company also promoted its cleaning solutions at the PlastIndia booth.

This was our first PlastIndia. We got incorporated in 2018 and production started in 2019. “We did not get a chance to participate in the last PlastIndia as the show did not take place due to Covid. We are finally here in 2023 and in the last four years, we have grown tremendously as a company. Acme Rolltech is a known brand in India now. So, it is a matter of pride that we are at PlastIndia where we can talk about our achievements,” said Sharma.

The year 2022 was phenomenal for Acme Rolltech as it doubled its production capacity and is now operating 24×7.

Sharma said the response at the expo was very good. “We got to meet a variety of customers. Half of our business comes from the narrow web segment. At PlastIndia, we interacted with representatives from the narrow web as well as the wide web and film coating segments. Overall, it was a very good debut for us. We could not have asked for better,” he said.

Actively participating in global exhibitions

For Acme, exports are a very important growth area. The company ships its products to more than 20 countries in Europe, Africa, and the Middle East and is hungry to expand its global footprint. Sharma thinks participating in major global and regional exhibitions is essential if the company wants to become a global brand.

We participated in the K Show last year. Before that, we were at regional shows in Turkey and Dubai. In 2023 and 2024, our agenda is to participate in as many foreign exhibitions as possible. Labelexpo Bangkok, Labelexpo Brussels, Propack Kenya, and Packaging Eurasia are some of the shows on our radar. Then next year, we will be at drupa in Germany. We believe being at trade shows helps us in getting a feel of the market,” Sharma concluded.
