Amit Ahuja, chief executive officer, Multitec showcases S1 full servo narrow web flexo press at PrintPak India 2022.

Multitec displays its S1 full servo (twin servo) 8-color narrow web flexo press for printing flexible packaging and self-adhesive labels E3 machine at PrintPack India 2022. The S1 servo on the stand with a width of 450 mm, has a special gold foil unit for foil-saving both laterally and circumferentially. The machine runs at a speed of 200 meters a minute, and is able to print on 12-micron polyester film for short-run flexible packaging.

“More and more short runs, embellishment, colors, and effects are being introduced in the market. It becomes quite difficult for printers as print turnaround times are short, but the quality expectations are much higher,” said Amit Ahuja, chief executive officer at Multitec.

He added, “Multitec dominates not only the Indian market for domestically manufactured presses, but also exports to 35 countries. Almost 50% of our production is exported, following the trend to make India an international manufacturing base.”

The company imports many components and parts from various countries to assemble the machine in its plant in North India. During Covid-19, there were major supply chain issues in semi-conductors and motors, but the company endured due to its strategy of back to back orders with suppliers.

In India, the company has more than 400 installations to date (of all types of equipment), and managed to maintain the production flow even during the pandemic crisis by selling 23 machines. “In PrintPack India 2022, we have received orders for many of our machines and are looking forward to selling several more,” said Ahuja.

He enthusiastically concludes, “The 15th Printpack is going very well. We initially thought there might be lower footfalls because of Covid-19, but the quality of the crowd and the transactional discussions have well surpassed our expectations.”
