A host of players in the label and package sector are displaying their innovations at Labelexpo Europe 2023 which will take place from 11 to 14 September at the Brussels Expo in Brussels, Belgium. 

If Bobst is displaying its Digital Master 340, Asahi Photoproducts is showcasing the AWP wastewater recycling unit.  The attendees will have the opportunity to engage with top manufacturers and suppliers of digital and conventional printing presses, finishing and covering systems, dies, cutters, rollers, and more.

Under the motto ‘simplifying label production,” Bobst will demonstrate its leading innovation in labels and flexible packaging production with two main production lines in focus. As reported by Labelexpo, the Bobst Digital Master 340 is an all-in-one modular and upgradable label press, equipped with the latest UV inkjet technology, running live at 100m/min. 

“New manufacturing technologies continue to support opportunities that simply were not available before, and we will see more of that at the 2023 edition. Bobst wants to welcome visitors to the booth to show them how we have the best solutions to the challenges they face in today’s market and for the future, and how we can help create new business opportunities,” says Matteo Cardinotti, general manager, Bobst narrow mid-web.

This filtering technology under the brand Microza, is Asahi Kasei’s hollow fiber membrane separation technology that delivers cutting-edge water treatment capability, as well as a wide range of uses in other industrial processes.

It provides versatility with its flexibly adjustable opening level of the punching tool, optimizing performance for different materials and desired outcomes. It incorporates digitally monitored penetration depth, ensuring consistent and accurate cuts throughout the production process.

Along with witnessing the world-class products the attendees will also get a chance to be a part of a masterclass on flexible packaging by leading flexible packaging experts from the fields of materials, pre-press, printing technology, inks and coatings, and flexible pack formation and filling. 

In an interview with Labelexpo, when asked about the challenges in the field of flexible packaging, Steve Baker, managing director of Baker Labels says, “Flexible packaging is all about the function and safety as the product has direct contact with what you have produced, any contamination or failure in the integrity of the pouch could lead to not only a reject but also a product recall and liability for the entire product.”
