With emphasis on safe food packaging, Hubergroup promoted it MGA and Gecko range of inks at PackTech India held in Mumbai on 15–17 December. MGA Natura is ideal for special sheet-fed offset for printing organoleptically neutral print products on absorbent substrates. It is suitable for printing of food packaging made from paper and board. The prints made with Natura require inline application of an organoleptically neutral water-based coating. The MGA range of inks was launched in India earlier this year.
The Gecko system for flexo and gravure processes is designed taking into consideration important global regulations and is manufactured under strict GMO guidelines. Since a large proration of food packaging is printed using solvent-based ink systems, a minor risk regarding migration is present. For the Gecko inks, raw material selection follows stringent parameters keeping in mind issues such as toxicity, migration, etc. The Gecko brand, which is well established in Europe, is specifically designed to comply with today’s high demands for food packaging safety. The core of the Gecko product range is the easy-to-use modular mixing system allowing formulation of the various ink series from the Gecko Base concentrate range. A large range of applications and fastness properties can be covered.
“Both these solutions have been well received in the Indian market. They meet all the global standards. We already have top tier brands as our customers,” says RY Kamat, director – sales and marketing, Hubergroup.
