Live in action: UFlex’s ReLAM 50 — a compact recycling unit transforming mixed flexible waste into reusable materials

Multinational flexible packaging and solutions company UFlex is showcasing its latest innovations at the Global Conclave on Plastics Recycling and Sustainability (GCPRS) 2025, scheduled to be held from 17 to 20 June 2025, at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi.

GCPRS is an international exhibition jointly organized by the All India Plastics Manufacturers’ Association (AIPMA) and the Chemicals and Petrochemicals Manufacturers’ Association (CPMA), which brings together global leaders and changemakers in plastics and petrochemicals to promote responsible use, advanced recycling, and circular economy models. UFlex is presenting innovative solutions from its packaging films and engineering businesses, designed to make packaging materials more sustainable and valuable.

The packaging films business will present its ‘single-pellet solution,’ which integrates 30% or more recycled PET (rPET) with virgin PET (vPET) to produce food-grade packaging. This high-clarity, high-strength solution significantly reduces acetaldehyde levels and is fully compatible with existing PET lines—enabling seamless adoption without infrastructure upgrades.

The solution has received USFDA approval, permitting its use in direct food contact applications, and positions UFlex as the only Indian flexible packaging company with food-grade recycling certifications across PET, PE, and PP, the press release said.

In parallel, the engineering business will present a live demonstration of ReLAM 50, a decentralized recycling system designed to process up to 50 kg of mixed flexible waste per hour. Tailored for start-ups, rural enterprises, local recycling units, and waste management companies, ReLAM 50 transforms difficult-to-recycle mixed flexible waste into recycled granules or panels.

These granules can be repurposed to make household and other plastic products using injection molding, plastic lumber, tiles, and other non-critical applications—offering a viable route to reuse for a wide range of end uses. Its compact capacity and flexibility also make it suitable for NGOs, municipalities, and industrial recycling plants, driving grassroots-level participation in the circular economy.

With these advancements, UFlex continues to lead by example in embedding sustainability at the core of its innovation strategy, the press release said. Its participation at GCPRS 2025 reaffirms the company’s commitment to pioneering technologies that address environmental challenges.

UFlex will be present at stand D8, hall No 6.
