Winways Digitech, based in Thane near Mumbai, has significantly enhanced its digital label printing capabilities over the past year following the installation of the Konica Minolta Accuriolabel 230 label press. The company has expanded its services to include digital label printing for third-party brands. Previously, Winways utilized flatbed digital printing machines primarily for its in-house brands.

Kartik Shah, director of Winways Digitech, expressed satisfaction with the Konica Minolta Accuriolabel 230 press and praised the company’s after-sales service.

Now that we have the Konica Minolta Accuriolabel 230, we have boosted our printing capabilities and have started providing label printing services to third-party brands. We are happy with the press. Konica Minolta’s after-sales service is also great,” Shah told Packaging South Asia at the Konica Minolta stand at the Propak expo in Mumbai.

The AccurioLabel 230 is the third re-design of Konica Minolta’s toner-based printers. The press has a printing width of 250 to 330 mm and can handle substrates from 81 to 256 gsm.

The company now specializes in producing self-adhesive labels and anticipates strong growth in the digital label printing sector in the upcoming years.

Shah said the demand for digital label printing is expected to rise due to increasing brand customization. Many brands prefer digital technology for its flexibility and ability to accommodate small quantities, allowing them to test the market before committing to larger volumes.

While Winways Digitech currently serves customers in and around Mumbai, it aims to expand operations beyond the city.

Konica Minolta shows samples printed by its customers

At the Propak expo in Mumbai, Konica Minolta showcased various samples created by its customers using its technologies.

Instead of just displaying machines, the company has aimed to bring potential end-customers and print service providers together through these samples. This approach helps bolster our customers’ businesses,” said Vijay Kamat of Konica Minolta India.
