Valmet and Greenalia Biomass Power Curtis-Teixeiro SLU have signed a three-year service agreement to further improve the performance of Greenalia’s Curtis-Teixeiro biomass plant in Spain.
The agreement is included in Valmet’s orders received in the first quarter 2023 and is effective immediately. The value of the agreement will not be disclosed.
In Curtis-Teixeiro, Greenalia operates a 50 MWe biomass-fired bubbling fluidized bed (BFB) power boiler plant delivered by Valmet in 2020. With the agreement Greenalia wants to secure the availability and maximum capacity of the plant and further improve its environmental performance by emission control.
“For Greenalia, the objective with the signing of this agreement is to achieve the highest possible boiler efficiency and availability through totally green energy generation, contributing to the fight against climate change,” says Alex Espasandin Varela, plant manager, Greenalia.
“For Valmet, the recently signed service agreement gives the possibility to continue the successful collaboration with Greenalia. We will do our best to support the customer on their journey towards improved performance and the company’s ultimate goal, tackling climate change through clean energy,” says Marcos Gonzalez Moreno, Service sales manager, EMEA, Valmet.
The scope of the service agreement includes support in the overall plant development and spare parts management, Valmet Performance Center services such as KPI monitoring, on-demand remote expert support, performance evaluation and reporting. It also includes condition assessment of the boiler and its pressure parts, fuel feeding and ash-handling systems.
