Dow Chemical International (Dow India) has won the Golden Peacock Occupational Health and Safety Award for the year 2023, highlighting its commitment to maintaining quality and excellence in occupational health and safety, the company said.
Dow India emerged as the winner in the chemical sector. The selection process involved a three-tier assessment of 301 short-listed applications. The winners were selected based on their best practices towards health, and safety.

Dow India says its sites have achieved incident-free status over the past two years.
Dow India spearheads industry collaborative platforms such as Nicer Globe and mentors other chemical companies in implementing responsible care codes. To ensure compliance and the continued improvement of EHS performance, it has implemented an operating discipline management system (ODMS), the company said.
This system includes policies, standards, work processes, best practices, and procedures. The company says it improves its safety performance by leveraging innovative technologies, learnings from other sites, recognizing good EHS performance, implementing a well-designed contractors safety program and awareness campaigns for different stakeholders.
