H B Fuller Acquires Nordic Adhesives


H B Fuller of St. Paul, Minnesota, USA (2008 revenues – US$ 1.4 billion), a leading worldwide manufacturer of adhesives, sealants, paints and specialty chemicals, has entered into an agreement to acquire Nordic Adhesives, a manufacturer of flexible packaging adhesives based in Buxtehude in Germany in an all-stock deal. Nordic has a strong presence in the flexible packaging adhesives market in Northern Europe and generated revenues of US$ 9 million in 2008. The move is expected to increase H B Fuller’s foothold in the attractive global US$ 1 billion flexible packaging segment of the adhesives market.
H B Fuller also announced the opening of a regional technical centre ln China at the Shanghai Zhangjiang Hi-Tech Park. This is their first technical centre in the Asia-Pacific region and will house research and development, application testing, sales and market leadership for this region.
